FROM THE BARREL OF MY PEN
By Gonzalo “Jun” Policarpio

RUSHING TO THE SEA TO DROWN

When the Philippine Supreme Court branded the Gloria Macapagal Arroyo-sponsored People’s Initiative to amend the Constitution as a “grand deception” in its historical decision to dismiss the petition of the proponents, it crushed any remaining hope of this fast rising lady tyrant to perpetuate herself in power a la Marcos. The rule of law clipped her fangs.

Now I hear that the de facto president of the Philippines will try another trick to impose her will over the Filipino people. Using her giggling and sneering cronies in the House of Representatives, she will re-charge the low battery of Speaker Jose de Venecia to come out with an illegitimate assembly to amend the constitution out of her unscrupulous “yes M’am” majority members of the House whose stinking pockets of money betray their loot of the farmers’ funds. But they will surely fail. God always sets a limit to what his creations can do to destroy other creations.

It is still wise to wait for the hand of God to prick the hardened heart of the Filipino tyrant and surrender to the true voice of the Filipino people that ask her to obey the truth else she and her legion would be like the demon-possessed swine in the Bible rushing to the sea to drown.

Let me borrow the words of former Philippine President Manuel Quezon about my feelings for this coming November 7th midterm elections: My loyalty to my party ends, where my loyalty to my country begins. For I would not mind seeing the imminent loss of the Republican control of Congress as long as the corrupt ultra-conservative and racist Republicans are replaced. The United States is a country of immigrants and symbol of true liberty and democracy. To the lost offspring’s of Hitler, you are lost and stay lost.

FROM THE BARREL OF MY PEN
By Gonzalo “Jun” Policarpio

IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?

Though I once wrote about a scenario where a popular opposition leader would go the way of Ninoy Aquino to face martyrdom and force the ouster of a tyrant, it remains to be seen if Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay would step up to the plate in the ensuing events following his “suspension” by an Arroyo crony. If he does, then the Filipino people would react the same way as they did in 1987. History indeed repeats itself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few more weeks and then we’ll know which party will control the U.S. House of Representatives. On November 7th, Election Day in the United States, all 435 Congressional seats shall be declared vacant and the winners will fill the seats next year. I urge every American voter to vote his or her conscience and get rid of the ultra-conservative racists in Congress.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s about time for the Filipino people to wake up from its lethargic state and smell the coffee of reality. I was told by somebody that tyrants like Marcos and Arroyo capitalized on the stupidity and foolishness of the poor whose main concern is to survive. With billions of stolen money to buy power, such megalomaniacs were able to able to hold on to power despite their corrupt ways. And the poor will just smile off their problems waiting for some crumbs to fall from the dirty coffers of Malacanang. What do you think is the solution to this cancerous condition prevailing in the Philippines today?
Is there a doctor in the house?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The political opposition in the Philippines needs help very badly now that the de facto president uses political, judicial, and police-military forces to crush them. But they are not united having leaders fighting for conflicting agenda. Unless they come up with a true Filipino leader whose concern is the welfare of the Filipino people, Gloria and her henchmen will rule the Philippines indefinitely until sickness stops them all.

FROM THE BARREL OF MY PEN
By Gonzalo “Jun” Policarpio

THE DOOM OF THE DICTATORS

Mark Foley, a Republican Congressman from Florida,
was forced to resign from his elective post due to a
psychosexual problem of homosexual pedophilia. Barney
Frank, a Democratic Congressman, is still in office
despite the same condition. Why?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Philippine officials involved in the nursing test
cheating are being prosecuted by Philippine justice
officials. However, elected officials and other
government people, including the de facto president,
involved in the 2004 presidendential elections are
still waiting to be prosecuted. Why the delay?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In North Korea today, the word of the Korean leader,
Kim Jong Il, is the law because he is a dictator like
former Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos, former
Iragi leader Saddam Hussein, former Italian leader
Benito Mussolini, and former German dictator Adolf
Hitler. In the Philippines today, the illegitimate
leader Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, has been showing
tendencies to follow the way of the dictators. She
must be reminded of the gruesome end of such
dictators: Marcos banished in Hawaii like a leper,
Hussein captured hiding in a ground hole like a filthy
rat, Mussolini hanged upside down and shot, and Hitler
who burned himself to death to escape a humiliating
capture.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The so-called conservative but truly racist
Republicans and Democrats in Congress should be
serenaded with a solemn requiem of their political
demise this coming November elections. The way these
conservatives killed President Bush’s immigration
reform bill betrayed themselves as nothing less than
xenophobes. There’s still hope for the bill to pass in
next year’s Congress.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vincent J. Tabone, Queens GOP vice-chairman, said in
a letter to the Editor of TIMESLEDGER that the mission
of his group is to recruit and support the best
candidate for a political office. For the record, his
group nominated a candidate to run against Democratic
Rep. Gary Ackerman in 2002. This candidate, the
group’s legal counsel who may be still in jail because
of a crime committed, received only about 5% of the
vote despite the full support of his group’s political
machine. His group refused to endorse my candidacy
against Ackerman because of my message, EQUALITY AND
JUSTICE, which they believed was not coherent to the
group’s agenda. For this year’s midterm elections,
Tabone’s political machine failed to field any
candidate against the Democratic re-electionist. What
do you think of that? It is a failure in leadership.
